What does it mean – legally – when you buy a Certified Pre Owned vehicle? A certified preowned car or CPO is a type of used car that has been inspected, refurbished, and certified by an automobile manufacturer. Though CPO automobiles are typically more expensive than a similar non-certified used vehicle; the buyer is purchasing piece of mind. The reality is that each manufacturer has its own certification program and the devil is in the details.
